
Mark Singleton
Mark Singleton, PhD, is a senior researcher at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, where his current work focuses on the textual and ethnographic history of hatha yoga and its relationship to modern, global forms of yoga. His books include Yoga in the Modern World; Yoga Body: The Origins of Modern Posture Practice; Gurus of Modern Yoga; and an anthology of translated yoga practice texts, Roots of Yoga, with James Mallinson. He holds a doctorate from Cambridge University’s Divinity Faculty.
