Maura Spiegel

Maura Spiegel is a founding member of the Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, where she has been teaching literature and film for more than 20 years. With Rita Charon, she edited the journal Literature and Medicine for seven years. She coauthored The Principles and Practice of Narrative Medicine and The Grim Reader: Writings on Death, Dying and Living On. Maura has published articles on many subjects and is currently completing a book on the life and films of film director Sidney Lumet.
