Michael (Mick) Krasner

Michael (Mick) Krasner, MD,  professor of clinical medicine at the University of Rochester, practices primary care internal medicine and has been teaching mindfulness-based interventions to patients, medical students, and health professionals for 16 years. His research has examined the effects of mindfulness on the immune system in the elderly, chronic psoriasis, and the well-being of medical students. He was project director of Mindful Communication: Bringing Intention, Attention, and Reflection to Clinical Practice, sponsored by the New York chapter of the American College of Physicians, funded by the Physicians Foundation, and featured in the September 2009 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
