Shawn Parell

Shawn Parell is dedicated to illuminating the path of authentic, integrative yoga. With degrees in English and religious studies from Georgetown and Oxford University, and in Eastern classics and Sanskrit from St. John’s College, Shawn combines an academic background in Eastern philosophy, language studies, and mystical poetry with the mindfulness of everyday practice. In addition to offering teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats worldwide, she mentors others in Prana Vinyasa, a sacred embodiment system created by her teacher, Shiva Rea. Shawn also serves as director of programs for Anahata International, a nonprofit bringing trauma-sensitive mindfulness to conflict-affected communities in Rwanda and the West Bank.
