Stephanie Sohl

Presenter

Dr. Stephanie Sohl, PhD, is a social and health psychologist in the Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the intersections of cancer survivorship, integrative medicine, and implementation science. Stephanie investigates how to empower people to actively participate in optimizing their valued health outcomes. She adapts self-management interventions (e.g., yoga, health coaching) to coordinate with, and support, guideline-concordant comprehensive cancer care. She is leading an NIH-funded investigation of remotely delivered mindful movement and breathing for improving postoperative pain and psychological distress among women undergoing surgery for suspected gynecologic malignancies. Stephanie became a Kripalu-trained yoga teacher in 2007 and previously served as a member of IAYT’s Scientific Program Committee for the Symposium of Yoga Research.
