Iona M. Smith
Iona M. Smith, MEd, CYT 500, is a yoga educator focused on bringing mindful resilience to those who need it most, including educators and youth. Iona is Program Leader for Kripalu Yoga in the Schools (KYIS) and a RISE™ facilitator. She has been on the RISE team since its inception and has trained hundreds of frontline professionals, as well as middle and high school students. Iona is cocreator of the KYIS curriculum, and the impact of her work has been documented in the Journal of Youth and Adolescence, the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and other peer-reviewed publications. Iona earned her master’s from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and her 500-hour yoga teacher certification from the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.
