Mary Northey
Director of the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy
Mary Northey, C-IAYT, is the director of the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy (KSIYT). As a yoga therapist, Mary is drawn to working with older adults and the array of challenges that can accompany the aging body and mind. Mary loves the idea of partnering yoga therapy with western medicine. Her vision is that every health care team will include a yoga therapist as a collaborative partner to aide in whole person wellness. As the director of KSIYT, Mary has shepherded hundreds of students through the program, teaching skills for deep relaxation, self-compassion, and self-inquiry as an important form of yoga therapy. Prior to Kripalu, Mary’s passion was aimed towards human resources and nonprofit management. When not working, her favorite thing to do is hang out and play with her grandchildren.
