Enter a Sacred Pause

Practicing Shabbat is like exhaling into a deeply renewing yoga posture. Join gifted teachers Cantor Lizzie Shammash, Rabbi Claudia Kreiman, and Rabbi Cantor Danielle Bensimhon for a retreat that draws on Jewish spiritual practices of mindfulness, prayer, chant, meditation, and study to help us enter and "hold the pose" of Shabbat.

Rooted in the themes of the weekly Torah portion, Parashat Vayera—hospitality, presence, love, rupture, and the call of hineni (“here I am”), this retreat invites you to gently explore what it means to show up to your life with openness and courage.

Through yoga, discussion, chant, meditation, and reflection, you will:

  • Experience Shabbat rituals in a shared and supportive community.
  • Deepen your self-understanding through the wisdom of the Torah portion.
  • Practice meeting your inner world with curiosity and compassion.
  • Explore what it means to hold on, and what it means to let go.

Step away from the busyness of daily life and enter a sacred pause, resting in the spacious awareness that Shabbat offers. This program is open to all levels.
