The Space Between
Writing and yoga for times of change
Meet the Moment with Grace and Compassion
Change is inevitable—and often overwhelming. Whether it arrives through life circumstances, career shifts, relationship dynamics, loss, or the transitions of midlife, change can leave us feeling ungrounded and uncertain.
Writing offers a way to meet these moments with grace and compassion. Whether you are starting over or simply beginning a new day, writing can bring clarity, confidence, and perspective. Together, we’ll explore new ways of paying attention—finding comfort, meaning, and even joy in everyday moments. Reinvention isn’t easy, but writing can help us move beyond the limitations we place on ourselves.
This is a supportive, no-pressure environment. There is no requirement to share your writing or receive critique; this writing is for you. We will gather for group discussions focused on the experience of writing itself and the insights that naturally arise when we put our words on paper.
We will use gentle writing prompts and practical tools to unlock authentic creativity. You are welcome to write by hand or on a device, however you feel most comfortable. No writing experience is necessary.
Alongside our writing practice, we’ll explore a nurturing, all-levels yoga practice designed to clear mental clutter, regulate the nervous system, and help us focus on what truly matters.
During our workshop, we’ll explore topics such as:
- Writing as a way to complete the stress cycle
- Working with the inner critic and people-pleasing tendencies
- What you can’t articulate controls you: reclaiming your agency
- Journaling and the myth of self-indulgence
- Using concepts of neuropsychology to build sustainable habits
- Examining the stories we hold about ourselves and the world
- Developing the voice of our Inner Witness for clearer decision-making under stress
- Navigating the balance of effort and ease through the yogic concepts of Abhyasa and Vairagya
- Exploring Purushārtha (The Four Aims of Life) as a framework for meaning
Return home with a grounded yoga and writing practice—tools to support both mind and body as you navigate the transitions ahead.
