Kimberly Richardson (MS, C-IAYT, E-500RYT) is a certified yoga therapist, E-500 registered yoga teacher, and published yoga researcher whose passion is cultivating inclusive and impactful wellness spaces through yoga, sound therapy, and other holistic modalities. As the owner and founder of Yes You Yoga and Wellness in Birmingham, Alabama, she uplifts and prioritizes collective community healing, as well as the exploration and potential of yoga to positively impact chronic health conditions. Her many additional designations include registered children’s yoga teacher (RCYT), registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT), forest therapy guide, and sought-after certified sound and vibrational therapy practitioner who facilitates discussions on the art and neuroscience of sound healing.  

With extensive training in trauma-informed approaches and accessible practices, she has a gift for engaging individuals of all abilities. Armed with a Master of Science in Urban Studies, Kim firmly believes that integrative practices like yoga, sound therapy, and herbalism can be powerful tools for transforming communities and even reducing health disparities. In 2024, she received the honor of being named as the international winner of IAYT’s John Kepner Seva Award for Community Service in Under Resourced Communities in recognition of her work with Alabama veterans. She currently serves as an artist for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) Arts in Medicine (AIM) program serving children with complex needs in the Behavioral Health Unit at Children’s of Alabama, patients receiving care at UAB’s O’Neal Cancer Center and Spain Rehabilitation Center, and veterans at the Birmingham VA. Kim also extends her reach by serving as a legacy yoga ambassador with international athletic apparel brand, lululemon, in Birmingham.
