Lydia Violet Harutoonian is joyously committed to sharing the Work That Reconnects with others, conjuring integrity and deep emotional resources for our time. Lydia founded the School for the Great Turning, an online and in-person education organization that is dedicated to continuing Joanna Macy’s legacy and empowering new facilitators. She brings 16 years of scholarship and practice in Joanna Macy’s body of teachings and co-facilitation with Macy, as well as immersion in anti-oppression education and adrienne maree brown’s Emergent Strategy, helping many transform despair and apathy (in the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises) into constructive, collaborative action. She is an Iranian-Armenian American dedicated to ancestral healing, reconciliation, and community liberation.
