Bio
As a highly empathic and intuitive child, Melissa Kim Corter was fascinated with other people’s basements. Dark, unexplored spaces enthralled her, and her insatiable curiosity toward the hidden dimensions of the mind led to decades of exploring the shadow dynamics within the human psyche.
Melissa is the author of Apothecary for the Afflicted: Shadow Work for Invisible Wounds, a creative approach to shadow work through the analysis of dark fairy tales. Her second book soon to hit shelves is titled Esoterica: A Shadow Worker’s Codex. Melissa's expertise revolves around the shadow side of the personality. Her unique writing style blends psychology with symbolic forms found in film, fairy tales, and forensics.
Melissa is trained in traditional Jungian shadow work and has a Ph.D. in depth psychology and Jungian archetypal studies. Her decades of experience include working closely with the dark night of the soul and encounters with darkness; these themes deeply imbue her writing. Melissa's work draws on and celebrates the macabre and misunderstood dimensions of personality.
