Bio
Tamara Cress (Tam JoyRising) is a trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher, life coach, and speech-language therapist who offers yoga and mindfulness-based practices at colleges, retreats, churches, and support groups. Specializing in yoga nidra, she fosters connection through movement, stillness, and breath, focusing on rest, joy, and compassion. Tamara's teachings help people connect to their own inner wisdom and to each other.
Trained in mindfulness at Brown University’s MBSR program, Tamara teaches in yoga teacher training and wellness practices rooted in meditation and storytelling. She is also a dharma and mindfulness teacher with The Lotus Institute, where intergenerational wisdom is at the heart of teaching and learning.
Featured in Yoga Journal and a recurring presenter at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Tamara is recognized for her unique teaching approach.
