Presenter
Kathryn Tucker (KT) has been practicing yoga for more than 25 years. She received extensive training with Katerina Wen in Seattle, Jivamukti in New York, Yoga Tree in San Francisco, and the Pearl and the Bhakti Shop in Portland. KT has taught yoga in Idaho, California, Seattle, and Washington. She is also a frequent visiting instructor at the renowned Rancho La Puerta wellness retreat center in Tecate, Mexico, and at White Lotus Retreat Center near Santa Barbara, California, where she did her yoga teacher training in 2009. KT approaches yoga as a practice with profound potential to benefit every aspect of life, on the mat and off. She incorporates physical postures, work with the breath, chanting, and meditation practices, creating an environment where each practitioner finds focus and internal stillness in their practice, while moving through a sequence of postures that invigorate, strengthen, and balance the body and the mind. She is known for creative and seamless sequencing in vinyasa flow.
A graduate of Georgetown University Law School, KT has also been an advocate for patients for over three decades. She works as the legal director of a nonprofit organization focused on protecting and promoting the rights of the terminally ill. She has taught “Law, Medicine and Ethics at the End of Life” at many law schools, including the University of Washington, Seattle University, Lewis & Clark, and Loyola Law School/Los Angeles, and has served as a Fulbright Specialist teaching at law schools internationally.
