Tao Porchon-Lynch

Tao Porchon-Lynch, E-RYT 500, at 100 years young, is a master yoga teacher who synthesizes the most positive aspects of Indian, European, and American thought. She has trained and certified hundreds of yoga instructors since founding the Westchester Institute of Yoga in 1982. With more than 70 years of yoga practice and 45 years of teaching behind her, Tao has learned how to tap into the incredible power that all individuals possess. She has studied with yoga masters Indra Devi, B. K. S. Iyengar, and Aurobindo, and is the author of a collection of meditations, Reflections: The Yogic Journey of Life. Tao recently received the Padma Shri Award—one of India’s highest civilian honors— from the Indian government for her work in advancing the practice of yoga. Tao won the Guinness World Record in 2012 for being the oldest active yoga teacher in the world.
