Trust Your Soul

Whether you’re a lawyer, mother, a gardener, a self-help author, or a teacher, our souls are continuously calling us deeper. If we’re willing to shed our skins (over and over again), then layer after layer of our truth will appear anew and demand action. What’s true for us today won’t necessarily be true for us tomorrow. Aligning our ordinary life with our evolutionary divinity is a path of fire: You burn. You grow. You burn. You grow. Constantly. The only stability is our trust in the process and our intuitive awareness that Love’s very nature is to consume and call us home.

Your soul is the bridge, the link to your Everything. She knows your past, present, and future better than any book or teacher or psychic or spiritual tradition. She knows what you should read, who you should hang with, and where you should go, now. In other words, she knows how and when your unique Being unfolds organically. You don’t want to force this rose to bloom or follow someone else’s seven steps. If you relax, if you trust your soul, she will lead you back to your Self. It will be a crazy journey—as unique as a snowflake, as transformative as a fire, as freaky as a fruitcake, as mysterious as a Universe.

While your soul is always with you, there are certain “come hither” gestures you can make to connect more consciously.

First, right here, right now, with all of your heart, simply say to your soul … that you’re ready.

Ask her to turn up her volume in your daily life, and learn to listen when she calls you. Over time and with practice, you will learn to discern her voice from the myriad other voices running around your mind and body. She is constantly communicating with you, but it takes a willingness to become accustomed to her language, which is different from your ego or fast, witty mind or even the “love and light” language of your spirit. She speaks through dreams, metaphor, symbols, synchronicities, your body, and your feelings, always communicating simple, but powerful, life-changing messages such as:

This is not the right relationship. This job is suffocating. Stop meditating so much. Start dancing more. Now, sit still. Ask that difficult question. Dare to hear the answer. Read that book. Volunteer at that organization. Listen to that friend. Trust that teaching. Vote. Go on that date. Play with your dog. Speak the truth to that person. Breathe. Deeper. Cry. Harder. Laugh. Louder. Get messy. Get clean.

You’re not alone.

I’ve got your back.

I’m Here.

Soon, your soul will start to feel like a palpable presence you are intimately a part of and she of you, and you can invite her more and more into your body’s awareness by consciously sitting with her, dancing with her, moving and listening and speaking and touching and loving as her. Undoubtedly, there will come a time when your soul will demand even more of your conscious attention. When the pressure to Know and Love and Unleash your soul will move up a notch (or 10). There will come a time, a time that’s been decided by your soul alone (not anything or anyone outside of you), when you will be asked to:

Come forward.

Closer still

Till “closer” has meaning no longer.

And it will be thrilling and terrifying and gorgeous and annoying, and there will be days when you will question everything, and other days you will be trusting everything and telling the Universe to Bring It even more. But no matter the utter insanity or your soul’s sanity, you will know that

This

Is

The Truest Thing You Were Born to Experience.

And you will be

So

Grateful

That you Remembered.

So, please. Become your favorite subject. Study your Self. Sit at the feet of the Teacher inside you. Live your Love Story. And share what you are learning with the rest of us.
