The Embodied Writing Method Retreat Weekend
Allow Prana and Creativity to Flow with Ease
This unique program brings together several modalities to take your writing practice to the next level. In writing her three books, Susan Weis-Bohlen discovered how Ayurveda affected her work at nearly every step, inspiring her to create this program. Through Vedic meditation practices, writing exercises to balance and harmonize your unique mind-body constitution, Vastu Shastra (Vedic Feng Shui) for your writing space, the food you eat, and even the time of day you write—all are connected to your Ayurvedic dosha. To help you establish a clear, easy routine, we’ll use Ayurvedic guidelines to encourage and support your creativity and writing. There is no one process that works for everyone—let’s find what works best for you.
The Embodied Writing Method is enhanced by aromatherapy, mindful movement, guided meditation, time in nature, and breathwork to ignite your imagination, quiet the inner critic, and open the channels to allow the prana to flow. We will write, share, and offer feedback that is positive, encouraging, and supportive. Craft tools will be discussed to help you reach the next level, if you wish.
You will receive a Ayurvedic dosha quiz before the class. Our attributes can enhance or impede the writing process. Vata distraction, Pitta perfectionism, and Kapha inertia can be turned around using the tools offered in this workshop. Additionally, we’ll discuss seasonal eating practices that will feed your mind, body, and soul.
In this program, you will discover:
- How to turn sensations, images, and feelings into words that clearly reflect your thoughts and intentions.
- The act of listening as an act of kindness, support, and encouragement.
- Remedies to balance your dosha, allowing prana and creativity to flow.
You will leave the weekend with:
- A renewed (or new!) sense of belief in your inner wisdom.
- A robust writing plan for creativity and dosha balancing.
- Seasonal self-care prompts, techniques, and apothecary recommendations.
