Online Immersion
For students who have completed Foundations of Yoga Therapy, Part 1 & 2, In-Depth Anatomy of Asana, and Practicum Immersion.
- Access and utilize medical research related to the field of Yoga Therapy and create sessions based on this knowledge.
- Understand and describe common manifestations of Western diseases including common symptoms, management, illness trajectories, and contraindications as relevant to the work of a yoga therapist.
- Become familiar with the common medical terminology necessary to understand these conditions and collaborate with other health care providers.
- Understand the influence of familial, social, cultural, and religious conditioning in the medical perspective related to these common illnesses.
- Interface with the Western medical system as a yoga therapist on these issues.
- Create a therapeutic plan for a variety of conditions based on the intake and assessment through the lens of the five koshas—a physical, mental, and energetic approach to viewing an individual, rooted in a yogic system of healing and wholeness.
This course fulfills 75 hours in a combination of asynchronous recordings and online synchronous sessions. These hours are applied toward the 800-hour Professional Yoga Therapist Training Program accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
NOTE: You will have access to the video recording(s) for 30 days after the program ends. All recordings will be available within 72 hours of the end of each session.
