David Nichtern

David Nichtern was one of the original Western students of renowned Tibetan Buddhist meditation master Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. He has been the director of Karme Choling Meditation Center in Vermont; director of Buddhist Studies and Practice at OM Yoga Center in New York; and director of the Dharmadhatu Meditation Center in Los Angeles. He currently leads workshops and teacher training programs around the world and mentors students in person and online. A four-time Emmy winner and two-time Grammy nominee, David wrote the classic hit “Midnight at the Oasis.” A highly regarded composer, producer, and guitarist, he has played/recorded with greats such as Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Christopher Guest, Jerry Garcia, and Krishna Das. He is the author of Awakening from the Daydream; Re-imaging the Buddha’s Wheel of Life and Creativity Spirituality, and Making a Buck.
