Rediscovering Us: A New Path to Connection, Presence, and Love

Is it possible we’re living through a quiet but powerful cultural transformation—from the Age of Information into the Age of Connection?
Not long ago, many of us were immersed in the quest for productivity, efficiency, and constant access to the latest data. But something is changing. I sense it in my own life, in the work I do with couples and individuals, and in the collective questions being asked by people everywhere.
After four decades of guiding people into embodied awareness through mind-body practices, I’ve come to believe that true transformation always begins with connection—connection to self, to others, and to something greater. What’s different now is that the world seems ready to meet this truth more fully than ever before.
Here are four signs that we may be stepping into the Age of Connection:
1. Embodiment Is Becoming Mainstream
More leaders, educators, and therapists are embracing somatic practices—not just as tools for self-regulation, but as portals to presence and meaningful relationship. The body is no longer an afterthought; it’s a bridge to what matters most.
2. Relationships Are Being Revalued
Many of us have emerged from recent years with a renewed sense of what really counts: family, friendship, intimacy, and community. The hunger for genuine, heart-centered connection is palpable.
3. Purpose and Meaning Matter More Than Raw Data
We’re moving away from information overload and leaning toward shared narratives, authentic dialogue, and values that speak to the soul. We want stories that resonate, not just statistics that inform.
4. Wholeness Is the New Success
Success is being redefined. It now includes well-being, balance, belonging, and living in alignment with our deepest truths. We're learning that a fulfilled life is one that nourishes all parts of ourselves—not just the productive ones.
Personally, I find myself more attuned to the quality of my relationships than ever before—giving greater weight to connection, shared presence, and the moments of meaning that shape how I live and lead.
Because in the Age of Connection, relationships aren't just part of the journey—they are the journey.
