Scholarship Applications

Scholarships are a vital part of Kripalu’s mission to empower people and communities to realize their full potential through the transformative wisdom and practice of yoga. Each year, Kripalu awards an average of $500,000 in scholarships; all scholarships are partial and funds are limited. Awards are based on financial need and other hardship as well as plans to serve.

Scholarship Eligibility and Amounts

Not all programs are eligible for scholarships. View a list of eligible programs.

Submitting an application for a scholarship does not guarantee that you will receive one. Scholarships typically cover 20 to 50 percent of tuition and housing and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Scholarships are awarded toward dormitory-style housing. If you choose to upgrade your accommodation, your scholarship will no longer apply, with the exception of a medical condition.

Application Process and Deadlines

Scholarship applications must be submitted at least three months prior to the start date of the program or training; we are unable to consider applications received after this deadline.

Upon successful submission of your application, you will receive a confirmation. You will be notified of your scholarship decision within several weeks of your program date.

If you plan to take the program whether or not you receive a scholarship, you may make a reservation to guarantee your spot. Full payment is due at time of reservation. If you are awarded a scholarship, the scholarship amount will be refunded to your credit card. If you plan to only attend the program if you receive a scholarship, you do not need to register; however, you may wish to in order to guarantee space in the program and housing. There is a separate registration and payment process for trainings in the Kripalu Schools; visit kripalu.org/schools.

Cancellation There is a $50.00 processing fee to cancel a reservation. The balance of the payment can be refunded to the credit card when cancelling at least 14 days prior to the program start date. If cancelling between 1 and 13 days prior to the program start date, the balance will be retained as a non-refundable credit to be used within one year. If cancelling on the day of arrival, no refund or credit is available. There is a separate cancellation policy for trainings in the Kripalu Schools; visit kripalu.org/schools.

Scholarship consideration and program registration take place separately; being awarded a scholarship does not register you for the program. In order to guarantee space in the program and housing, please call Registrations at 866.200.5203.

If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact us at scholarship@kripalu.org.

Please note There is no work-study available for programs or trainings at Kripalu.

Scholarship applications are evaluated and awarded relative to program dates. Please indicate the start date of the modules for which you are applying. When applying for scholarship toward the 200-Hour Foundations of Ayurveda portion of this certification, please follow the submission deadlines for 200-Hour Foundations of Ayurveda1.

3Applications are now being accepted for the 2018–19 Kripalu School of Ayurveda 650-Hour Ayurvedic Health Coach Certification (AHC) modules. You may complete one combined scholarship application for Foundations of Ayurveda and all four 2019 modules. You may complete one application for all four 2019 AHC modules if you have already completed the 200-Hour Foundations of Ayurveda prerequisite. If you are not applying for all four AHC modules in 2019, simply specify which module date(s) you wish to apply for on your scholarship application. You must be accepted into the AHC program for your application for a scholarship to be reviewed. If you switch tracks to AHC after the 2018 Foundations of Ayurveda session you may apply for scholarship toward only the four 2019 AHC modules. These track change submissions must be received by November 9, 2018, and will be communicated by December 14, 2018. Any 2019 AHC track change scholarship applications submitted after November 9, 2018, may not be considered for scholarship.
