Fall Writing Immersion

Return to remember

Writing Our Way Back to the Analog

In a world of endless scrolling, fractured attention, and digital noise, what happens when we slow down to place pen to paper? What wisdom becomes available when we return to the intimacy of handwriting, the rhythm of breath, the movement of the body, and the sacred act of listening deeply to ourselves?

This year’s Fall Writing Program invites you into a collective remembering—an exploration of writing not simply as productivity or performance, but as ritual, refuge, transmission, and creative awakening. Together, we will explore how a return to the analog can nourish our imagination, deepen our presence, and reconnect us to the living pulse of our creativity.

Through journaling, poetry, storytelling, movement, reflection, and embodied writing practices, we will remember the body as an instrument of knowing and writing as something that moves through us rather than merely from us. We will explore the quiet magic of handwriting, the beauty of life as poetry, and the transformative potential of entering flow state through presence, sensation, and attention.

In this program, we will explore questions such as:

  • How does creativity shift when we step away from the speed of consumption and return to slowness, texture, and touch?
  • What emerges when writing becomes less about proving and more about perceiving?
  • What truths live in the body, waiting to be translated onto the page?

Join an inspiring community of writers, storytellers, seekers, and visionaries for a month-long journey into creativity, embodiment, and remembrance. Together, we will slow down, listen closely, and write our way home.

Writing Our Way Home: Body, Earth, and the Wisdom of Remembering

Presenters: Jessica Durivage and Jess Frey

This immersive session offers an invitation to return to the body as our first home, our oldest storyteller, and our wisest guide. Through the embodied movement practice of Qoya, reflective journaling, and moments of quiet listening, we will explore writing as a transmission from the body and as a practice of sacred reciprocity with the land. As we move, we will attune to the wisdom of the natural world around us and consider how creativity can become a relationship rather than a transaction.

The Organic Prompt

Presenter: Monique Schubert

The personal journal can be a site of discovery and dreaming, a place to keep secrets, or encounter the self without pretense. Daily life provides the prompt: a spark of inspiration to be remembered, a surprise worth noting, a memory to be cherished and revisited, a deeply personal pain that requires a tender response. Together we will look at journal writing as a practice that fuels creativity and insight, as a tool to better understand oneself and the world, and as a means of affecting personal healing. This workshop will also incorporate meditation and gentle movement.

Writing From Your Inner Wisdom

Presenter: Kaitlin Curtice (kwe/she/her)

In this session we will ask what our inner wisdom holds in helping us come back to an awareness of our own being. Even writing practices can pull us into the world of technology and comparison; how can we return to ourselves, honor our own soul's voices, and create from that sacred space? Through short meditations, poetry prompts, and writing sessions, we will embrace our inner wisdom together.
