Grief is a universal human experience, yet very few of us have learned how to navigate the complex and often overwhelming process of loss. Life's demands and societal expectations can force us to try to hurry back to “life as we knew it.” Here’s a secret: you don’t have to choose between falling apart and staying strong.
Join grief experts Gina Moffa, Barri Leiner Grant, and Kelsey Sawyer for a program that provides a comprehensive understanding of how grief manifests in the body, mind, and spirit. This immersive and experiential offering will help you to meet your grief with a sense of agency, new understanding, tenderness, and renewal.
Seldom do we get the time and space to simply be with our grief and tend to this life-changing experience with the presence and care it calls for. With that intention, Grief Camp is a chance to step out of the day to day and into the supportive nature of community. We will explore grief as it relates to loss of life both past and present, as well as non-death related losses associated with our health, relationships, identity, and career, just to name a few.
Grievers will explore both evidence-based education and experiential learning in a supportive and nurturing environment. You will feel less alone on your grief journey and initiate a personalized grief tending practice. The program will introduce practical tools and creative exercises crafted to help move the energy created by grief through the body.
In a caring and nurturing environment, you will:
- Experience movement, writing, meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, and deep rest.
- Increase your grief education through short learning sessions and rich community experiences.
- Learn interventions to alleviate present-day emotional and psychological burdens.
- Explore effective coping strategies for healing, finding meaning, and seeking renewed joy.
- Return home with a personal, culturally-informed, and flexible process to best support and care for yourself—and insight into how to support others.
NOTES: This program is suitable for grievers at any point in their grief journey, clinicians, coaches, or those supporting other grievers.
