Doorways of the Heart
A Tibetan yoga new year retreat
A Roadmap for Healing and Insight
The experiences of grief, loss, and transition are powerful doorways into deepening love and compassion. When we experience change, the Bardo Thodol (often translated as the Tibetan Book of the Dead) can serve as a manual for accessing freedom within these potent and transformative passages. These in-between moments of life, though challenging, hold potential for spiritual awakening and emotional release.
Join Dr. James Bae—author and doctor of Chinese Medicine—for an extended New Year retreat that offers deeply embodied ways to heal, find meaning, and cultivate resilience through your most trying times.
During our time together, you will:
- Learn and practice Tibetan Buddhist yoga and meditation: Engage in exercises and traditional meditation methods connected to these wisdom teachings—grounding them in the body, breath, and mind.
- Explore the Six Bardos: Use them as a step-by-step roadmap to navigate change and transform grief.
- Be with others in community: Gather to honor who or what has passed, celebrate what is here, and heal within a supportive environment.
Together, we will access the profound insights these transitions offer to our personal and collective journeys.
NOTE: Please be aware that this program's final day coincides with Contemplative Week at Kripalu. Starting Monday, January 4, all dining rooms will be silent during meals, offering a beautiful opportunity to deeply integrate your retreat experience.
