Kripalu Recipe: Buddha Bowl
  Kripalu's beloved Buddha Bar offers a variety of foods simply prepared along with various spices, sauces, and condiments. Guests love to build their own Buddha Bowls according to their dietary needs for that day. The bowls themselves are sized to provide enough food to sustain you but not so much that you feel sluggish. Our Buddha Bowls sell like hotcakes in the gift shop, but any 3-cup bowl will do. It’s most important to fill your bowl with a balance of colorful greens, grains, vegetables, protein-rich foods, and some nuts, seeds, seasonings, or sauces for color, pop, spice, and crunch.
Grains: brown rice, quinoa, or millet
Vegetables: steamed, sautéed, roasted, or grilled
Sea greens: arame, wakame, or kelp
Pickles: kimchi, sauerkraut, pickled radishes
Protein: cooked beans or legumes, tofu or tempeh
Sauces: tamari, hot sauce, Tahini Sauce, Cilantro Mint Chutney
Seeds: roasted almonds, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin dulse, gomasio
Spices: cayenne, turmeric, cumin, coriander, kelp powder, cardamom, ginger, garam masala
Oils: ghee, extra-virgin olive oil, toasted sesame oil
