The Altar Within Sacred Healing through Mantra and Meditation
- Presenter: Rajeshwari Gretchen Carmel
A CEREMONY OF SELF-INQUIRY AND DEVOTION
Since ancient times, external altars and sacred space have provided a sanctuary for prayer, spiritual practice, and gifts from the divine.
Join yoga instructor, Sanskrit mantra teacher, and Vedic ceremonialist, Rajeshwari Gretchen Carmel, for a healing exploration into the Self. Through meditation practices, guided imagery, journaling, and the repetition of mantra, learn to embrace the personal altar within as you:
- Engage in discussion on the importance and maintenance of sacred space.
- Practice Sanskrit mantras for abundance, healing, protection, and peace.
- Participate in a traditional Vedic puja ceremony dedicated to Shiva Nataraj, the Hindu deity of transformation.
- Create a community altar.
The weekend culminates with a special opportunity to assist Raji in blessing some of Kripalu's on campus statues. Revel in how this journey can unlock doors to freedom on the yogic path.
NOTE Program participants are encouraged to wear light colored clothing for the puja ceremony, and bring a journal and small, sacred item to contribute to the community altar. This item can be taken home with renewed energy. A portion of this workshop will be held outdoors.
