Kripalu Outdoors: Hiking and Yoga

This program—developed and led by our own faculty with the Kripalu methodology in mind—is offered exclusively at Kripalu.

For everyone; no hiking or yoga experience necessary.

Being in nature is a powerful medicine to help counterbalance the stress of modern life. Join expert Kripalu faculty for a long weekend of hiking, exploration, yoga, community, and mindfulness, immersed in the lush, forested trails of the Berkshires. Move your legs, find your breath, and plug into the “wood wide web” as you explore the hills, valleys, streams, meadows and wild, secluded pockets surrounding the Kripalu grounds.

This program includes

  • Daily group hikes on the beautiful conservation areas of the Berkshire Natural Resources Council
  • An introduction to the Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Experience
  • Yoga sessions to stretch, strengthen, an awaken the senses
  • Guided nature meditations in Bullard Woods, one of the few remaining old-growth forests in New England
  • Naturalist activities such as tracking, tree ID, and bird watching

Note Participants should be prepared to cover several miles each day over hilly and sometimes difficult terrain. Appropriate footwear required, snowshoes, crampons, and trekking poles provided based on trail conditions.
