Poetry of Peace
- Presenter: Pádraig Ó Tuama

EXPRESS YOUR LITERARY VOICE
So much conflict can arise in language. Words hold enormous power to make or break relationships of all kinds. In this program, we will explore poems that have a creative relationship with conflict: using conflict to deepen the tensions that might be fruitful, to elevate the imagination to that which might be for the good of all, or to amplify voices that are already speaking but not being listened to.
Join poet, theologian, and host of On Being’s Poetry Unbound Pádraig Ó Tuama on an exciting journey of conflict resolution and peace through the written word.
In this retreat, you will:
- Read and write poetry.
- Discuss how words can be used for the purpose of the common good.
- Participate in a creative community of language and discussion together.
- Learn about conflict resolution, poetry, and textual scholarship.
Whether you are a first-timer to a poetry retreat or an old hand with many poems written, you are welcome here.
