THE SACRED PROCESS OF TRANSITION

What if we were able to approach the biggest transition of our lives with a greater sense of knowledge, calm, and reassurance?

Join yoga teacher and one of the nation’s leading advocates for terminally ill patients, Kathryn Tucker, JD, and birth and death doula, educator, and hospital chaplain Amy Wright Glenn for a weekend program that invites you to explore your relationship to the final stage of life. Kathryn and Amy will explain the choices which commonly arise in a supportive and interactive way.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You want to learn about end-of-life choices, enabling you to vision and clarify what you want your last bit of this lifetime to look and feel like.
  • You are dealing with advancing illness, causing you to contemplate your own end of life, or are supporting a loved one doing so.
  • You’re seeking a way to face your mortality in a healthy way that fills you with vitality and enriches your life with purpose and meaning, informed by the wisdom, teachings, and practices of the yoga tradition.
  • You teach, counsel, or otherwise support mortals considering these issues.

In this program, you will:

  • Use yoga, breath, and meditation to encourage a contemplative state of being.
  • Open yourself up to a conversation about, and exploration of, the process of dying.
  • Learn about the different ways to express your wishes concerning medical care.
  • Understand how to interface with the medical care team to ensure your wishes are known and respected.

Return home with more knowledge about the dying process and understanding the value of preparing for your end of life or that of a loved one.

Testimonial from a previous participant:

“Understanding legal issues, medical options, and personal wishes in the context of yoga dharma and philosophy opened up doorways of empowerment, aliveness, and gratitude for the great gift of life this side of the stars. In this death-phobic culture, may I (we) cultivate courage and grace to enter boldly and peacefully into the wilderness of the Great Unknown.”

NOTE No experience with yoga or meditation is required. This program is suitable for all, especially for those with a desire to learn about the law and medicine and those who feel the deep urge to prepare for their final chapter with agency and clarity.
