Weekend Workshop with Bryan Kest


Leading yoga teacher and longtime practitioner, Bryan Kest, returns to Kripalu to offer a Power Yoga weekend workshop. Bryan will lead you through a strong, well-rounded, yet accessible physical practice that leaves your body vibrating with vitality while simultaneously challenging your mind.

Bryan teaches that because the physical practice of yoga is such a fertile environment for various mind states to arise, it offers a unique opportunity to strengthen the characteristics you want—including calm, patience, focus, gentleness, gratitude, humility, and acceptance—and weaken those that are harmful and stress-inducing such as judgment, competitiveness, distraction, reaction, and criticism.

Each of the four yoga sessions during this program includes practices that strengthen not just the body but also the qualities of mind that have the greatest impact on well-being.

NOTE Bryan tends to use humor and explicit language in his programs. This program is held in a slightly heated room.

Friday, August 23rd: Power Yoga Master Class
Part lecture, part asana practice. Bryan starts by explaining the objective of Power Yoga, as well as the principles of the practice, laying the foundation for the entire weekend.

Saturday, August 24th: Full Power Yoga Flow and Long, Slow and Deep (LSD)
A morning Full Power Yoga flow with all the bells and whistles. As a complement to the morning’s power class, the afternoon session is will offer a series of deep stretches to open the body while challenging the mind. 

Sunday, August 25th: Complete Power Yoga Flow with Meditation
A complete Power Yoga flow with meditation. This class is an integration of everything covered over the weekend.
