Narratives
Let go of the stories that keep you stuck
Wake Up from the Trance of Your Narratives
All too often it’s not life that imprisons us; it’s the stories we tell ourselves. The narratives inside our heads are the real obstacles to freedom and happiness.
Everyone we know (including ourselves) is walking around with a story playing inside their head—a movie they’re fully absorbed in and believe is real. Furthermore, we’re also all assuming that our movie is the same one everyone else is watching. We weave our perceptions into a cohesive personal storyline and create a plotline that makes sense of reality to make the world feel knowable. Our stories help us create a consistent and cohesive self, which we need to function in the world.
Join psychotherapist and author Nancy Colier for a program that shows you what’s been too close for you to see, and how the beliefs you’ve been operating from (the ones that feel like the “truth") and the stories you’ve constructed about yourself, are not who you are.
In this retreat, you will:
- Learn to cultivate new possibilities and fresh experiences in your life, beyond what your stories have allowed.
- Be introduced to new versions of yourself that may be more true and real than what your stories are telling you.
- Adopt a different way to see, think about, and relate to the stories your mind produces in order to live with but not in them.
This program offers a path to hear your mind’s stories with compassion, curiosity, and even a touch of humor. You will learn to observe these narratives without the need to defend or re-create them—and most importantly, without sacrificing your happiness for them.
