Support Your Wellbeing
Chronic stress is highly prevalent in modern society, and is especially important in critical occupations such as healthcare providers where it can lead to burnout. However, our educational and medical systems are not effectively addressing this burden, which has very serious consequences for physical and mental health conditions.
This online lecture will begin by defining stress and providing an understanding of the physiology and psychology of chronic stress, stress management, resilience, and burnout. The current behavioral and psychological strategies and techniques for managing chronic stress will also be reviewed.
In this program, we will discuss the role of traditional multicomponent yoga practices including:
- Physical exercise
- Relaxation
- Breathing techniques
- Meditation practices
These topics will be explored from the perspective of the physiological and psychological mechanisms involved, including a review of the published research on the efficacy of these practices for stress and burnout. Please join us for this supportive online learning experience.
