IMPROVE YOUR FUNCTIONAL BREATHING
Become the master of your breathing, the maestro of your health. Traditionally, yoga classes begin or end with pranayama techniques. Less attention is given to breathing within poses beyond being told when to inhale and exhale. True functional breathing is more than inhaling and exhaling from an external cue. Your breath can make or break your practice. Your breath can make or break your life.
In this workshop, you will:
- Discover the difference between breathwork and pranayama.
- Delve into the biochemistry and biomechanics of breathing.
- Learn the science behind traditional yoga breath practices.
- Measure how functional your breathing is.
- Train the respiratory system to be more efficient and imbue the body with more oxygen.
- Increase adaptability and resilience to stress on a cellular level.
- Learn about the relationship between breathing, sleep, and mental health and how to improve all three.
This workshop is for yoga teachers wanting to understand how and why pranayama is so powerful and which ones to teach for which student, yogis who know that breath is the bridge for true body-mind health and harmony, and anyone who breathes. To improve your functional breathing, this workshop leverages Oxygen Advantage® techniques, including the simulation of high-altitude training during yoga asana.
