Celtic Wisdom on Hope and Wholeness in Troubled Times The Happy Heart Is True

Please note that Nóirín Ní Riain is no longer copresenting this program. We apologize for any inconvenience.

“The happy heart is true.” So said Brigid of Kildare, Ireland’s fourth-century patron saint of artisans, teachers, healers, and those on the threshold between old and emerging lives. Brigid invites you to become your true, beautiful, happy self—a flame of hope and wholeness in dark times. Learn the art of deeply listening to the wisdom whispered through the songs and stories of the Celtic imagination.

Share in sacred song from the Celtic and Gregorian chant traditions, invoking the ancient Latin proverb “Bis orat qui cantat,” or “The one who sings prays twice.” Nóirín has adapted that adage to “Bis orat qui audit,” or “The one who listens prays twice.”

This gathering, enhanced by musical offerings from Nóirín’s sons, Owen and Mícheál “Moley” Ó Súilleabháin, focuses on how Brigid’s teachings and the broader message of Celtic spirituality can inspire us today.
