Drum Making Connecting with the Sacred Hoop

CONNECTING THROUGH CEREMONIAL SPACE

Our connection to the sacred hoop is reminiscent of the womb—connecting Creator, Mother Earth, and drum maker as one—to reveal the gifts that have been forgotten along the way.

Join spirit guided healer Zelda Hotaling for a program that invites you to birth a drum from start to finishZelda, who has over 30 years of experience creating drums, holds energy for you as you create a deeper relationship with Mother Earth and do the necessary work needed for your healing. Through meditatation, toning, chanting, and dreaming, you will learn how to

  • Awaken your drum and find out which direction your drum holds
  • Connect with, and care for, your drum
  • Make your own drum stick.

Zelda welcomes each new creation into the world with the same joy and enthusiasm as a midwife who places a newborn infant in the arms of the parent. You will be guided in an intuitive manner whereby the appropriate animal skin (deer, elk, buffalo) will seek you out to specifically help your healing.

Note Materials used in the making of your 14" crossbar drum have been ethically sourced. Skins are not processed but harvested in a natural way. Participants will not be able to play their drum immediately as it takes a few days for it to dry in a peaceful way. You are encouraged to bring a rattle or drum and to forage your own stick, preferably between 12–14". The cost for materials is $275 and is included in the program tuition..
