A PROFOUND JOURNEY, OUTDOORS

Join Mass Audubon naturalist and tracker, Dale Abrams, and author of Rewilding and founder of the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, Micah Mortali, on a profound journey of connection in the winter woods. Kripalu and Mass Audubon are proud to offer programs that explore the intersection of mindfulness practices with an appreciation and understanding of the natural world.

This unique approach to outdoor skills—through the lens of mindful, meditative observation—opens the door to an entirely new way of viewing nature and its inhabitants. Embark on an adventure to discover the hidden life of winter animals and the fascinating world of the late-winter forest as you:

  • Hike some of the most popular trails in the Berkshires including the nearby Brother’s Trail and Yokun Ridge.
  • Learn animal tracking techniques, sign recognition, and tree identification.
  • Experience the healing, meditative qualities of forest bathing in evergreen-rich woods.
  • Witness winter birds in their natural habitat.
  • Practice gentle yoga and movement classes indoors.

Come enjoy the peaceful calm of snow-covered trails as you develop both observation and mindfulness skills in the great outdoors.

NOTE Microspikes, or snowshoes, and poles will be provided for this program based on what gear is appropriate for existing snow coverage.
