In this six-part online series, you will hear from the brilliant minds of KSA faculty for a comprehensive and intimate exploration of the mind and profound practices for self and client. This program is designed for you to:
- Acquire a deeper connection to the doshas of the mind, Samkhya philosophy, and Manovaha Srotas (the channels of the mind)
- Identify the root causes of suffering—the impact the mind has on physical health and the impact the body has on mental health
- Learn ways to guide your clients back to sattva, their natural state of being through interactive medicinal food sessions, discovering the root cause of suffering and practices to soothe the prana body
Ayurveda has known for thousands of years that the mind traverses, travels, and lodges along the entire body; the mind is not just the brain. When a student or client has a physical imbalance the root cause may be in the physical body, and it may be in the mind—discovering the root cause of suffering is the work of the Ayurveda Health Counselor/practitioner.
NOTE This program is suitable for anyone who has completed a Foundations of Ayurveda program and for those who are Ayurvedic Health Counselors and practitioners. This program is also eligible for 12 NAMA PACE credits. You will have access to the video recording(s) for 30 days after the program ends. All recordings will be available within 72 hours of the end of each session.

Weeks 1 & 2: Dr. Anusha Sehgal
Mental and physical doshas and their influence on the mind
We will begin this series by establishing the framework of how the mental and physical doshas influence the mind, and by diving deep into the layers of consciousness to identify root causes of mental and emotional suffering.
Weeks 3 & 4: Dr. Claudia Welch
Manovahasrotas—the channel of the mind
The channel of the mind (manovahasrotas) lives all over the body and imbalances are so often due to blocks or constriction of the flow of prana. You will be guided some of the most powerful Ayurvedic and tantric tools that dissolve obstructions in the channel of the mind and allow for the smooth flow of prana. These practices will support your clients so that they have lifelong tools to work with their prana, mind, and body to move through stuck patterns of emotions, thoughts, and behavior.
Weeks 5 & 6: Kate O’Donnell
Acharya Rasayana—practical tools to cultivate wholesome behaviors and choices
Guiding clients to engage in habit changes is a practice of cocreation. Enact new skills to assist clients in shifting their mental attitudes around daily routine (dinacharya) for lasting change. We will also engage in experiences of how food influences the mind and how to utilize different food preparations to shift the mind into more sattva, move through stuck tamas tamas, or add calm to excited rajas.
