Meeting You Where You Are in Your Recovery

Most cancer survivors emerge from months or years of treatment carrying lasting side effects: exhaustion, pain, cognitive fog, anxiety, depression, and a profound sense of disconnection from the person they used to be. Over 80 percent experience significant aftereffects, yet once treatment ends, most are left without structured support for recovery.

This program is designed specifically for people navigating life after cancer treatment. Developed by Lee Majewski at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute in India, the program draws on the deepest therapeutic traditions of yoga to help you reconnect with your body, breath, and sense of self—and to reclaim the tools you need to heal on your own terms.

Through a daily rhythm of gentle asana, breath regulation (pranayama), meditation, chanting, mudras, and Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation), you begin to rebuild what treatment often fragments: body awareness, emotional resilience, mental clarity, and a sense of meaning and purpose. We will also explore the science of recovery, lifestyle factors in health, and the role of spirituality in healing, grounding ancient wisdom in current research.

In this program, you will experience:

  • Practical yogic tools to promote health, adapted to your personal needs
  • Knowledge and guidelines for supporting health through diet, physical activity, sleep, and environmental toxicity awareness
  • A personal "Fridge List": a concrete, manageable plan of health-promoting habits to implement over the five weeks following the retreat
  • Health-related yogic practices and philosophy including specific documented practices to recover from brain fog and restore energy
  • A deeper sense of agency: the lived understanding that your healing depends on your own daily choices and practices

Beyond Cancer has been evaluated through peer-reviewed research showing significant improvements in anxiety, depression, mood, quality of life, and coping—with benefits sustained up to 12 months in those who continued their practice. Whether you are weeks, months, or years past treatment—and whether your cancer was early-stage or advanced—this program meets you where you are.

NOTE: All cancer types and stages are welcome. No yoga experience required.
