The Heart of Forgiveness
Expanding vulnerability and nobility for freedom
Cultivate Acceptance
What is burdening your heart? What resentments do you continue to hold onto? How is forgiveness practice a part of your liberation and that of your communities?
This four-week online series dives into the four directions of forgiveness: offering forgiveness towards yourself, asking for forgiveness from someone you have hurt (humbling yourself in your heart, not actually asking), offering forgiveness to someone who has hurt you, and cultivating acceptance towards the systemic sorrows that we have been given to hold (the big things like climate change, police violence).
Forgiveness is not condoning the actions of these people or institutions, but rather giving you space in your heart to not be contracted and therefore be available and capable of vision and imagination toward healthier relationships and a better world. We will work with one direction per week, and you will be given a meditation recording to practice with for the week following each session. Because of the tenderness of this topic, you are asked to sign up for and commit to the entire series.
In this online program, we will focus on the four directions of forgiveness:
- Offering forgiveness to oneself
- Asking for forgiveness from someone you have hurt (within oneself, not actually asking)
- Offering forgiveness to someone who has hurt you
- Cultivating acceptance towards systemic sorrows that we have been given to hold
