The Celtic Wheel of The Year

LEARN TO EMBRACE THE SEASONS OF YOUR SOUL

"As without, so within." This perennial truth was known to the ancient Celts, as it is in every indigenous wisdom tradition. It can be so easy for our modern lives to become detached from the greatest of the natural cycles—the ancient Celtic pilgrimage of the Wheel of the Year.

Join Rev. Nóirín Ní Riain Ph.D, legendary singer, theologian, and expert in Celtic spirituality, and her two sons Mícheál and Owen Ó Súilleabháin, virtuoso musicians, poets, and speakers, as they take you on an insightful year-long series illuminating the Celtic feasts. This family-hosted series is packed full of music, poetry, laughter, and poignant insight. As you share in the themes of each festival in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, you will

  • Be guided through the four festivals of the year in community
  • Uncover the particular secret that each festival has in store for you
  • Engage in ritual bringing to life the teachings of each season
  • Discover a vast array of poetry, music and culture from Ireland and the Celtic world
  • Meet your true self by exploring the varied themes of each Celtic threshold festival
  • Find new friends and community through conversation and sharing.

Each Celtic season contains a treasury of music, story, poetry, ritual, and symbolism powerful enough to reframe the human experience.

Note You will have access to the video recording(s) for 30 days after the program ends. All recordings will be available within 72 hours of the end of each session.

Preview the Sessions

Session 1 April 30 - May 1, 2023, Bealtaine
Join us and this like minded community as we collectively extinguish the burdens of our past. Walk through the purifying power of a new flame, rekindled from the central source of creativity. Celebrate the symbolism of fire in your life, take part in a Bealtaine fire ritual, and feed your own creativity through the poetics of this Celtic festival.

Session 2 July 31 - August 1, 2023,  Lúnasa
Lúnasa is our festival at the height of the harvest, midway between the summer solstice and the Autumn equinox. The God Lúgh was celebrated across Celtic Europe at this time and was revered for the way he overcame the stingy, dark god Crom Dubh. Examine what you have overcome in your life and explore themes of legacy and inheritance.

Session 3 October 31 - November 1, 2023, Samhain
Samhain is the high point and beginning of the Celtic new year. It is the first of the four annual Celtic festivals, and the threshold into the dark half of the year. In this session, we ask, "What is arriving and departing in your own life? What is your poetic relationship to death?"

Session 4 January 31 - February 1, 2024, Imbolc
This Celtic feast is a celebration of the Goddess Brigid. Imbolc literally means "in the belly" and is a time of gestation. In this session, we discuss the question, "What are you preparing for at this time?"

Session 5 April 30 - May 1, 2024, The Cóicead / Fifth Province
During this session, we celebrate the fifth point at the center of the cross—the point where you are standing—as well as the four previous cross quarters of the year that you experienced.
