Coping with Grief

 A healing journey

Grief is one of the most universal human experiences, yet few of us have ever been taught how to grieve. Whether you've experienced the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, changes in health, a shift in identity or purpose, the loss of a dream, or another of life's many transitions, grief asks something of us that our culture rarely prepares us for.

This experiential retreat offers a compassionate sanctuary where grief can be understood, honored, and met through community, embodied practice, and compassionate care. Here, your emotions are welcome, your pain is acknowledged, and your grief is held without judgment, shame, or stigma. You won't have to perform when big feelings arise. You’re invited simply to be yourself.  Together, we'll challenge outdated ideas about grief and explore new and effective practices to revitalize your journey.

Throughout the retreat, you'll experience:

  • The relief of being seen, heard, and validated. Connect with others who understand grief in a compassionate community where your story is welcomed without the pressure or push to "move on."
  • Reconnect with the wisdom of your body. Explore gentle somatic movement, breathwork, and nervous system practices that cultivate grounding and anchoring.
  • Rest in mindfulness and self-compassion. Experience guided meditation and contemplative practices that nurture awareness, self-kindness, and resilience.
  • Deepen your understanding of grief. Learn a compassionate framework that makes sense of grief while challenging common myths that often leave us feeling isolated or misunderstood.
  • Express what words alone cannot. Engage in reflective writing, meaningful ritual, and creative practices that honor your grief (no artistic experience necessary).
  • Develop compassionate tools for everyday life. Leave with practical, heart-centered practices to navigate grief, regulate difficult emotions, care for your nervous system, and continue tending your relationships with those you love, both living and remembered.

You'll leave with greater confidence, a 100-page retreat workbook, post-retreat integration gatherings, and three complimentary months in AmarAtma's Compassionate Grieving membership community.

Whether your grief is recent or decades old, expected or sudden, visible or invisible, you are welcome here. You don't need to have the right words. You don't need to be "further along." You don't need to explain your grief. Perhaps this is your time to let yourself be cared for.
