Practice the Pause Wisdom for Modern Times
- Presenter: Jess Frey
SAVORING THE PAUSE
“When we allow a gap, then spontaneous, intuitive understanding of how to proceed on the path suddenly, automatically comes to us.”
— Chögyam Trungpa
It's easy to rush through and react automatically to the events in our lives. The wisdom traditions of yoga teach us that when we allow a gap, we begin to open ourselves to the present. From this place of pause, we have the space to uncover a renewed inspiration and energy to respond to life in new ways.
Join Kripalu lead faculty member, Jess Frey, and explore practices that unlock the art of "the pause" and restore an intimacy to the wisdom of the present moment. Discover what is revealed when you make yourself available to gather presence, savor slowness, and respond versus react to the waves of life. Through lecture, group discussion, journaling, and embodied mindful practices of movement and stillness, you will:
- Restore pathways of presence to yourself and others in a supportive community.
- Nurture your body, awaken your heart, and foster attention with rhythmic breathing, guided meditations, and meditative slow flow, and restorative and Yin Yoga.
- Discover new ways to be in the world by practicing the pause in everyday life.
- Open to the connection between pause and self-discovery.
Please bring outdoor clothing appropriate for weather conditions as portions of this retreat include outdoor walking.
