Deep Rest, Rejuvenation, and Resilience
Explore the Connection Between Science, Art, and Deep Rest
Deep rest states are powerfully healing, helping reset the nervous system and restore balance after chronic stress. We also benefit from positive stressors that strengthen our capacity to adapt and thrive. Together, positive stress and deep rest work in harmony to support resilience, vitality, and healthy longevity.
Join Nichol Chase, with two special sessions led by Dr. Elissa Epel (by Zoom), for a weekend exploration of the science, art, and practice of deep rest, rejuvenation, and resilience. The weekend also features guest faculty Anu Gupta and Justin Senense, who will lead a special PAUSE™ experience integrating movement, meditation, music, reflection, and contemplative wisdom to support nervous system regulation and embodied wellbeing, and is assisted by Adina Aaron, who will guide a vocal toning and contemplative sound session while serving as program assistant throughout the weekend.
You will:
- Explore the science underlying the restorative effects of meditation and mind-body practices.
- Learn how positive stress—including movement, breathwork, and other hormetic practices—can strengthen resilience.
- Experience deep rest through restorative yoga, guided meditation, breath practices, sensory immersion, and live contemplative music.
- Participate in a special PAUSE™ experience with Anu Gupta and Justin Senense.
