Uniting Yoga and Ayurveda 300-Hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training
- Presenter: Kate O’Donnell
- Presenter: Erin Casperson
HYBRID TRAINING FOR TEACHERS
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences originally designed to be practiced together. Both are roadmaps that can lead us to the highest truth of our innermost self.
In this hybrid training held over five weeks, discover tools to enhance the quality of your yoga teaching, including potent ways to plan classes and design sequences guided by Ayurvedic principles. This course—with classes focused on cultivating prana (life force), agni (inner fire), and ojas (vigor)—will deepen your knowledge of the relationship between yoga and Ayurveda.
In addition to participating in daily sadhana, having silent time for self-study, and integrating your skills in insightful supervised practicums, you will:
- Explore the relation between panchamaya kosha and the eight limbs of yoga as they relate to Ayurveda.
- Learn key postures, breathing practices, and meditation techniques for balancing the doshas (psychophysical constitutions).
- Experience the vayus including prana, samana, vyana, apana, and udana.
- Cultivate useful Ayurvedic tools to adjust your class sequencing and personalize private sessions based on the season, time of day, season of life, and basic doshic imbalances.
Prerequisites Any 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training, or completion of KSIYT Foundations of Yoga Therapy, Parts 1 & 2, and In-Depth Anatomy of Asana (in order to get credit towards the 800-Hour certification).
