This experiential training invites you to deepen your own practice while building the knowledge, skills, and confidence to guide meditation for others. Rooted in the Kripalu tradition, you’ll explore a wide range of techniques and teaching methods that prepare you to meet diverse communities and settings with presence and care. By the end, you’ll carry a versatile toolkit—and the assurance to share mindfulness and meditation as pathways to connection, creativity, vitality, and well-being in daily life.
- The core meditation techniques of the Kripalu tradition, including relaxation, awareness of the body and the breath, mantra and chanting, slow motion prana, yoga nidra, developing witness consciousness, and cultivating compassion
- The Kripalu methodology for guiding contemplative practices
- An integrated practice of movement, pranayama, and relaxation to enhance meditation and aid in exploring the crossroads of body, mind, and spirit
- Simple yet effective tools to access to the yogic meditative states of dharana and dhyana
- A grounded approach adapting traditional wisdom tools for modern practitioners
- Conscious communication as a practice and a skill
- Trauma-informed principles for adapting meditation and making it more accessible

Upcoming Trainings
FAQs
A prerequisite of at least one year of meditation experience is required. We recommend group facilitation experience.
We offer a limited number of scholarships for some of our Kripalu Schools Trainings. Once accepted to one of our Schools, you will receive a link to our scholarship application in your acceptance email if any are available.
Partial scholarships are awarded for select Schools trainings. On campus Schools scholarships cover 50% of the total cost of the training–total cost includes tuition and dorm housing. Hybrid Schools Scholarships cover 60% of the total cost of the training– total cost includes tuition and dorm housing. Online Schools Scholarships cover 70% of the total training tuition. If you choose housing other than a dormitory, you will be responsible for the full cost of housing.

There is no required prereading. Those interested may choose to read The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh.
There will be reading assignments to support your learning within the program. The amount of time this reading takes will depend upon the assignment and the individual. There may also be time needed outside of the program session to prepare for your practice teaches.
There is no final written exam. Throughout the training, you will be evaluated verbally and in writing on the material presented. These evaluations are designed to ascertain where you need additional study or support. Your certification is not contingent upon these evaluations. The practice-teach sessions are the determining factor for whether or not a student will graduate. Being able to successfully and safely deliver a complete Kripalu Meditation class to a group of your fellow students is a requirement for certification.
Students receive a course manual.
100% attendance is required for all on-campus and online sessions. Please keep in mind that full participation is required. For online sessions, this also includes your camera being on with you present. Excused absences with required make-up assignments are granted on a case-by-case basis due to unexpected illness, travel delays, or family emergencies. Graduation takes place on the final day of your training and is only open to program participants.
